I have no power to the driver side doom light, the passenger side is ok. It works when the right side door is open.

It all started when I replace the lock cyclinder, while I remove the lock syclinder, the alarm came on, and it shut off by itself after about a few minutes.

Beside the doom light failed, there is no power to hood switch, and I am not able to move the power seats, it used to be able to change to seat position without the engine turn on.

The driver side control runs thru the warning buzzer relay!! And it is common for that trigger(computer relay) to fail, it is under the drivers underdash panel.

I am not sure the location of the buzzer relay of an 89 300se. On my 124, it is behind the ignition key unit.

On the 126, it is located underneath the dash, near the emergency brake mechanism. Smaller of the two relays, I believe. The larger is the Cruise control amp.

Have fun!

let there be light!!!!

the warning relay was the problem.what a nasty place mb put that relay.the cruise amp and warning relay are together on the same assembly.for the life of me i could not see how everything was held together so i dropped the whole thing down after this dumb move i found that one little clip holds the relay and its bracket to the cruise amp and its bracket.i can only look on the bright side i have a dome light when the drivers door is opened,i didnt brake anything in the whole process and i saved a few bucks,thanks to all of you. ed
