I haven't looked yet, but how difficult a job is the rear subframe removal/ reinstall(500E)? Can it be reasonably done without a lift? I know a lift makes everything easier, but one may not be available now. Thanks in advance for the advice.

First of all why do you want to remove the rear subframe that would make my answer so much easier.
