Just picked this up last night. It's a 93 300CE 24 Sportline with an AMG body kit and wheels. Need to clean it up and tweak a few things but overall, it's in pretty good shape. It also has a Remus exhaust which I haven't decided to keep on it or not. Whatcha think?

I like to remind everybody whenever a 1993 model is brought up that 1993 is the year of mis-badging. Mercedes went to the 3.2 liter M104 engine in 1993, but didn't bother to change the badge to 320CE (like in Europe), or just E320 like they did in 1994.

Kevin,
You need to run away and hide because you STOLE that car for the price. Those Sportlines are a beautifully integrated package, and very rare. It's a true cut above the standard CE, yet still subtle in it's modifications. It's really beautiful, in that color....KEEP the Remus system, by all means. They are one of the very best for the 124/126 cars and they look VERY good, even better than the AMG. They were expensive, about $800 or so just for the muffler and tips, 10 years ago, and did give you about 3 hp extra, and their sound is just right, too. They are of superb Austrian quality and have always been failry hard to find. Whoever had that car before had good taste. The 24V bootlid badges are quite commonly seen on the cars in Europe, and would look good on your car too... Maybe one will turn up on A fine addition to your stable, and well VERY well bought, maybe at near half retail price all things considered.

I had a 1993 300E (3.2), and I bought at the dealer the E320 badge that was used in 1994-1995, and swapped the badges.

Yes, but the 300CE 24 badge was only used on the earlier M103 3.0 liter 24 valve engine.
If I were to do it again, I would've rebadged the car like it should've been in the first place, just like in the rest of the world: 320CE

Tex:
When you remove the headlight assemblies, this is what the headlight wiper motor and shaft look like. The motor comes off easy once you remove the nuts holding the shaft to the headlight assemblies.

Hi Benz,
I put the Euro headlights in today. It took me 5 hours, and would have been longer without your tips and pix. I partly broke a spacer, it is still holding but I need to buy a new one. They look OK to me, I made no photos because the light in the garage is not so good and when using flash there is a lot of reflexion from the crome grill and from the lights themselves. I'll make some tomorrow. Still there are three problems: 1. big blunder of me: I removed both water pumps at the bottom of the washer liquid container instead of only the one for the headlight wipers. And it happened that the gasket at the end of the pump for winshield has been broken. Now i have a leak and no water for the windschield until tomorrow with a new part. 2. Even the low beam is very high, the high beam is almost toward heaven . I don't see any adjustment button; Need to bring the car to a service station for adjustment.3. I did not connect the city lights and when I turn the headlights on, the parking light on driver side is also on, triggering the warning light for exterior light failure on dashboard. Can the unconnected wires at pin 3 (city light) the cause? If yes how should I connect them, the wires are now open-ended and taped. Again thanks for your support. I'll post some photos soon.
