This is also something that I have been wondering about since my 190E is coming due for a change this Spring. I've been thinking about using Mobil 1 as it says it is Dexron VI, which supersedes all previous Dexron ratings according to them. My owner's manual recommends Dexron III but seeing as how that was printed nearly 17 years ago I don't even know if you can buy that anymore.

What about the MB brand available at the dealership? Will that work in the older transmissions or is that only for the newer vehicles? I'll probably end up checking with a service advisor to see what they would put in if I would have them do it at the MB dealer. I'll post his response.
