I am having a similar problem. The key turns both ways and seems to go past the stop when going right. I can hear the mechanism move and the doors both lock and unlock but you cannot get the truck latch to release, therefore the trunk will not open. I do not see any way to remove the lock from the outside. I looked briefly at my other car and found only the adjustment for the latch(3 bolts).
Do I have to drill it out to get it to open? What options do I have? What procedure is followed to insure doing as little damage as possible? Your help is greatly appreciated and, as always, thanks in advance. '
