Replacing bulbs in dash cluster - 500SL
Just read Benzmac's response to Golden Luck and wondered if the
the process for replacing a cluster bulb is the same for a 500SL? My cluster light for the cluster with the fuel gauge is burned out, but I was told they had to pull the steering wheel to change the bulb... a $3.00 item bcame a $150 total with labor added ...... Now I carry a flashlight, but maybe ...... |

I had the same problem in my 260E. First the fuel guage went out then the all three went out. I had it fixed by a reliable independent and the problem wasn't the bulbs but the whole instrument panel was failing and they couldn't replace just the individual bulbs. So that was that.

After reading other posts about changing cluster lights I am possibly completely wrong about having the whole instrument cluster changed. Oh well can't cry over spilt milk.
