Died in the driveway

While waiting for the garage door to open, my car died in the driveway and wouldn't start. It cranks but won't fire. I pulled a plug and have no spark. Could this be as simple as a bad coil? I have ordered a new coil but thought I would check to see if there is something else that might have caused the problem.

Thanks Fly

Should be able to check coil for continuity or resistance with a multimeter. Don't know any particular values. Could be bad rotor in distributor, or bad condensor as well. Could be bad connection or cable instead of bad part as well. No start instead of rough running sorta rules out distributor -cylinder cables. Wiring diagram and check values would get you going.

Thanks a bunch!
I checked the distributor cap and it's was bad. I'll change the cap, rotor, plugs, wires and coil, Sounds like a tune-up doesn't it?!
