Red face Sway Bar - E420 - is there an "up side"

I removed the sway bar off the W124 - E420.

Planning to repaint the bar - I didn't mark "top".

Now I see that the ends have a slight "tilt up" or down. (Bend of about half inch)

Is the tilt part of the design, of a bend after 185,000 miles?

Do Sway Bards "go bad"

My project was just to repaint and re[plash the bushings.

Thanks

The ones on the wifes' 400E appear to drop a bit at the ends,,, which would make sense I guess. I doubt if a sway bar would bend over time,,, but I've been wrong before.

There is a tilt

Posting for the post project update

There is a tilt to the sway bar

"Murphy" told me how to install the bar. and sure enough it was wrong - bar did not line up with "bolt downs" by the wheels.

Flipped to the correct orientation - and voila - the parts fit together.

Now to the next project - I'm finding a car with 188,000 miles needs wear-out partts need replacing.

found the front bearings need replaced
