I bought some.

I will let you know in a week (when I have time to install them) how well they are put together.

I may redo the ones in my SEC with kits from these people. The ones in there now are slightly off color from each other.

Sadly there hasn't been too much to report on recently. I have been extremely busy with the '86 2.3-16 getting it prepped and ready to go for paint. Been eating up all of my time.

I did start this project yesterday:

Should have both of them on tomorrow along with some new gaskets!

Why yes it is! My original intentions were to polish the aluminum, but I simply couldn't find a set in good enough condition to polish nicely. So I gave it a nice acid bath and some ceramic engine paint.

what brand paint is that and where did you get it? Would it work good on the exhaust manifold?

I'm not sure if it would work on the exhaust manifold. The exhaust manifolds can get very very hot...usually they have to be coated with a special material. Would have to get them really hot and see how hot they actually are. Most paint I see are only good for around 500 degrees. I'll do a bit of looking around.

Ah, here you go...1200 degree paint. "High Temperature Enamel"

http://duplicolor.com/products/engine.html

The Engine Enamel is what I used for the valve covers...

I might grab another set of Euro Logs from the junk yard and try the High Temperature paint.

I am also playing around with the idea of having some custom headers made. So we'll see.

It really is! I was very impressed with the quality of both the primer and the actual paint. Results were fantastic. I will definitely be using it on more pieces!

Joe, that motor look great.

I don't think an exhuast manifold gets over 1200F, that stuff should work. Although I dont think have the balls to pull it off and paint it.

Hmm... Now you all have me thinking of parts that I have sitting spare in the garage, and wanting to spend money I don't need to!

For shame, you all for teasing the rest of us, and me for looking and drooling!

All these projects look great, and I definitely need to slow down and do some beautification on the car the next time I dig into one of the projects!
(as well as deciding how or what I want to do to the extra set of valve covers, euro logs, and intake manifold of my m117, before I start on the next repairs!)

Sorry for the lack of updates, Christmas time has had me really busy!

I got the freshly painted valve covers on, as well as some new valve cover gaskets. Just waiting on new Air Box Standoffs (forgot to pick them up at the dealer yesterday, DOH.)

I also got new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor:

This is much more like it!

All back together. The engine bay is almost looking somewhat presentable, haha.

I managed to run into a stockpile of European tail lights which were removed by the dealerships when grey market cars were imported back in the 80's. I picked up what they had. I paid a small fortune for them, but man do they look good! I will be putting a few sets on eBay as well.

Here is a picture showing the downfall of this SEC. The car had been repainted at one point, and poorly prepped. You can see to the left of where the license plate would be the paint is about ready to jump off of the car. Also, I was walking through my garage, and my pants caught the chrome corner piece and ripped it right off the car, lol. Oh well...Also, the rear window trim was taken off by the previous owner to replace the seal, and the job was never completed. I shall fix that soon enough.

Oh...at least the tail lights look good! :p

They flow SO much nicer with the euro spec front corner lights:

Enjoy!

Just FYI, watch the shipping at VVME.com if you go through them for headlights.

The kits alone end up being ~$65 ($40 for the kit, ~$20 shipping) but if you order a set of $4.99 replacement bulbs as well, that adds another $30 in shipping!
Ordering just a set of bulbs ends up with a total of ~$40 between part and shipping.

I ordered a kit for my motorcycle, which needed H-7 bulbs, but got H-1 instead. When I looked at ordering a set of H-7 to use, I got a bit of sticker shock.

Again, just FYI, and check your order to make sure it didn't switch the bulb selection before you submit!
