After 240,000 miles on 2.6L 190 E (5-Speed), odometer and trip odometer are out. I did the search here and saw refernces to a Barrie report in November of 1999. But I could not get that report, only references to it. I would like to try the DIY fix, get my fat hands in there, and fix the gear. Barrie (or anyone), can you get me a copy or refer me to a site or board or window that has it? Thank you.

IF you are willing to give up the use of the trip odometer, you can remove the gear that connects the master odometer to the trip odometer, and it will almost certainly begin to work normally. I find the trip odometer handy, but it was easy to give it up to keep the master working properly.
