Speedometer problem 124
1991 300te, my speedometer/odometer just quit working. I pulled instrument cluster, attached another cable and spun with a drill, speedo worked. Put cluster back and disconnected cable at tranny, i could get the speedo to move by turning the cable, but once the cable was reconnected to tranny the speedo didn't work.
Does anyone know how to repair this or what the name of the part is that i need to replace? Thanks, Jamie |

The "driven gear" in the transmission where the cable connects is probably shot. Part# 201 274 00 31
The cable attaches to a speedometer drive, seal ring, and then the gear.

Thanks, looks a bit "dealer only" part.
Thanks again. |
