Cool HOPEFULLY A SIMPLE QUESTION

I feel ignorant asking this following question; however, better be humble than stupid.
Where is the location of the engine & the transmission dipsticks on a 2004 c 240 (4-matic)?

If the 2004 is like the '98 then there is no trans dipstick. I can only be checked with a "special tool" (dipstick with temperature sensor). As for the oil dipstick, that info should be in your owners manual. Have you looked there? Hopefully someone with that car can say for sure.

Talking THINKMOULA

I appreciate your prompt response, No owner's manual!!! but knowing the location would be important. Thanks.

I did a search (give it a try...) I came up with many threads. Here is one:

Oil Measuring Stick

It appears neither stick is in the car.

As for the manual, I will guess you bought the car used, and I would be very suspicious of a car that new where the manual is already missing. Where the he.. did it go? Anyway, for that size of investment you should have a manual so download one or go to the dealer and buy one. I don't know the details on that but I am sure you can search and find out how to get a manual.

04 you will not be able to check the transmission oil level. Unless you have the dip stick, not to mention it has a lock on it that has to be broken to be removed. Your car might not even have an oil dipstick, theres a special dipstick for that as well.

but the trans tube will be behind the motor with a black cap with a red lock

the oil will be a red cap
