yes, both fans come on in low speed. i sat for a while and they also came on in high speed when the temp increased.

they came on by themselves. earlier you asked if they came on in low speed when the a/c was on and i didnt think they did, but they do. so i did not do a jumper test bec they were already on in low speed when the a/c was on.

I live in the Palm Springs area also. I have 2 cars, a '93 300CE and a '95 E420 When it gets over 105 they both start losing their cooling capacity. While the AC works, I don't think the earlier cars were designed for these extreme temps. Benz only had experience in Africa and the tropics. It is rare to find temps over 105 in these locales. Here for the rest of the month we will be looking at 109 minimum to 115. Anziani |

True.. It is in the design..but we have a few" cheap tricks" [ not da' Band..] .. that help.... This will pertain to both of your chassis, Anz. One, is you can bridge the CTS to cut the high fan on at a lower temp than the stock 105/107C That cost one Dollar... a simple cut-in drop to 100 makes a big difference. ..and you also can run a relay to up the a/c low fan to high speed for a/c operation. $10...... Both of these are short$$, easy to do, and will both up the capacity of the a/c and keep the coolant temps in check on those badddd hot days. You can also change coolant ratio to a more applicable 60/40 [ h2o/af], and change the theromstat to a tropical rated one [ lower opening spec temp] . Airflow and coolant temps are BIG factors on a/c output ............and easily addressed.

Yes my car was converted to the r134A. I am willing to try anything as long as it works in cooling down my car....without messing anything up, as I have already had a lot of work done that cost me several thousand over a short period of time.

Ok
That's high. so I would definately do the resistor mod on that sensor. Just do this test , as WRITTEN: Get the car up to normal temp and then unplug the 2 wire blu sensor at the thermo housing area..that will get you a HIGH fan by default before being triggered by the sensor at 107C. Now take the car for a ride and see how the ac/ performs with that manually added air-flow.
