WoW ...you found it ??

This is NOT the MOD.

This is only an air-flow TEST.

So , when you unplug that sensor, the fan should come ON to HIGH SPEED

DOES IT ?????????

You leave it in HIGH speed and try the car...does that help the a/c performance ...YES/NO
Does that help the colant temp stay lower ???

YES/NO

No! No! And No!!! @#%@! I unplugged something which I thought to be the sensor...2 blue wires right next to the pigtail wires and the a/c stopped working completely so I plugged them back in. Am I looking in the right area? I'm sweating my @$$ off out here.

You taking them med that you know so much about ?????

You do not belong under the hood...

But my last try.

Put you right hand index finger on the top radiator hose and follow the hose back to the engine.
That is the thermostat housing. Look around that area for the blu sensor I so kindly posted for you. NOT blu wires, but blu SENSOR, with a 2 wire connector on top of said blu sensor. Unplug the 2 wire sensor and tell me if the high fan comes on.

Yeah,Sure,............That's all I would need ..........

OK

There were some mid year changes on some sensors on these , so let me do some searching.. I hope I find that to be the case and not your over-looking the sensor I posted from the parts book.

1990/190E-2.6...correct year/model ???

OK

Let me check.

In the meantime, be aware that the pic I posted is what the part looks like when it is taken OFF the engine...so don't go looking for something exactly like that hanging there .
It screws into the water jacket on the engine and the only part you will see is the very TOP of the sensor , which should be Blu in color. And the wire connector may hide the blu top a little , so look at all wire connections and then look under each one for the top of that sensor...possibly you do not see it cuz you are looking for the whole part, which mostly is not seen b/c it is screwed into the engine and covered with the wire connector ...

If you see some 2 wire connectors , unplug them and see if the blu sensor is under them...OK????????
To my knowledge, the earlier fan sensors where done with in '88 models.
But I will double check while you look again.

Try that, will ya????????????????..and don't leave me hangin' here if you find it.

OK

Here is what the Service Manual says for 2.6 aux fan sensor/coolant temp for 1990 versions:

Coolant temp sensor is the 2 wire as I posted and it is Part B10/8 CTS in the schematic.
In the Location Index, it states:

Water jacket/Cylinder Head.

I think you know what the head is, huh???

Another possible , mainly b/c you state that mucho a/c work was done, is that they have done some non-OEM sensor changes , but I doubt that cuz your sesnorson the drier seem to be stock.

Are you jerkin' me???????????????????

The head is the long - top of the engine where all the spark plugs mount .

Don't ask where the plugs are ..if you have to do that, then wait for the Paper-Boy to come by and he will show you.

But I don't get the daily paper. Should I sign up for and wait? Haha! Just kidding. I found it! It is very small and tucked in the lateral flank sort of underneath....obvious to a novice such as myself. So I unplugged it and the fans are now running at high speed. Now what? Do I plug it back in?

You didn't find it ...did you get the kid next door, or the one mowin' da' lawn???

Be Honest....maybe the Wifie helped..?

Ok

So , go re-read that post[ #32 ] about starting the car and trying it out with that sensor unplugged.
The concept [ should I be using that word??] is to have the fan on full high to see if that helps both your over-heat condition and ac output.
We are adding air-flow to test the cars systems..........

Yes, I will take it for a test run, however I just noticed something that is a little different. Usually if I turn on my a/c there is a steel pipe on the driver side that gets ice cold and has condensation on it from the coolness. This time i felt it and it was not cold at all. Does that mean anything? And by the way, I did notice a difference as the car was idling that it was cooler than usual, not sure if it was bec I was out in the heat but I did notice it.
