Always gets me a nice Lady with the faintest of German accents.
And Yesterday(?) I spoke to Wolfgang about your problem. (???)

TRY again Pacific Time.

He doesn't know your name, But he's aware of your distress.

Gears arrived yesterday. Both gears look fine and match up perfectly in comparison to old ones...Now I'm back on track! Round 2! $62 shipped...*sigh of relief*...Very happy I didn't have to spend $300 on the assembly.

You're welcome guys...

More issues...I noticed today that the inner lip seal had torn...Figured it happened during the gear break problem. I bought a new one only to have it tear right again during re-assembly. Now I realized there is a metal lip it is catching on...Went back to the manual, and saw I missed there is a special tool so it doesn't tear

Arghhh...Gotta wait until Monday now as all parts places are closed on the weekends. One day this will be done LOL

I guess it is a blessing in disguise though...Had I have not noticed the tear, all this removal would have to be redone when it leaked again...

Just picked up (2) seals today...got a spare in case this time around. They were OOS so had to wait 3 days before they came in. Fri/Sat will be my next attempt at wrapping this up...finally

I'll post details + pics on how to do the seal without the special tool if I can get it to work. Plan is to try wrapping tape around the metal so it doesn't get caught and tear when pressing the pump back into the housing.

I have had good luck using a thin piece of plastic to make a protective sleeve when installing seals. I find that "page protectors/report covers" are stiff enough yet very thin. On larger seals I have used the plastic from a 2 liter soda bottle.
Good luck, I have enjoyed following your thread.

Great idea I think that may work better than tape as it would be thinner and stretch the seal less. Awesome thanks!

I normally cut the plastic so that it overlaps by about 1/2 inch. Remember that the cut edge of the plastic can be extremely sharp. Take a little fine grit sandpaper to knock off the sharp edge so that you don't cut the seal lip.

Ended up using tape as the bottle was difficult to hold in place because it cannot sit all the way down into the pump...It must only slide over the indented section. Tape worked the best for me.

Pump is back in...Phew...
