Spark plug wire replacement 1992 400e

Can anyone help me with ignition wire replacement? I have 1992 400e and it seems like I have to remove the fuel rail and injectors to get the new plug wires in. Also the coils are under the ABS module, do I have to remove it to get to the coils? Is there an easier way to do this job than complete dis-assembly?

No need to remove the injectors or fuel rail. Replacing the wires is difficult only if you set out to replicate what the factory did. Develop your own plan for the routing and it's easy. It's tight at the coil wires but there's no reason to remove anything. There is a cover over the coils that has to come off. I consider the covers a superfluous part, never put them back on and have never had a problem.

Are the wires giving you problems?? They really tend to last a long time-everyone I know is running orginals still. gsxr comes to mind with 4 cars.

Factory sells a crimper, ends and wire by the meter.

wires are pretty reasonable on the aftermarket... @ this point I've been seeing a lot of spent ends and the wires themselves are getting hard w/ all the Heat the 119's throw.

The key to doing the wires is lay them out and number them before hand.. when it comes to placement on the caps keep one of your old caps free to check placement.

In the plastic guides/holders you'll find very small #'s telling you orientation of each wire.

Take your time, spend more time on prep, write down the above #'s so you can readily access while installing and it will go OK!
