If it's like the E-class wagon, just lay down both rear seatbacks (right side first, of course). Then standing at the drivers' side rear door, slide the bar toward you about 2 inches, it will lift up and out of the car. No tools required, total time about 30 seconds.

finally got back to this...I can't get the thing to budge. Is there some trick to you like a release button or something? I looked in the owners manual and the cargo cover housing is unfortunately not even shown in it. -harv

I also have an E and it slides left a couple of inches and then lifts off. I doubt there's a different design for the C but anything is possible.
![]() Since getting my wagon about 2 1/2 years ago I've checked other wagons I've seen and not one has had that cover in place. I guess everyone just stores it unless really needed. HTH and good luck. |

It was just very stuck. I got on the passenger side and gave it a number of shoves with both arms and that did the trick. Thanks for the help -Harv
