A/C repairs
Hello All,
I'm a new member to the community, rayt, and I need a little help. I'm trying to replace all of the air conditioning parts and I'm having a little trouble in locating a manual or cd that could help me out with that. I have a 1985 MB 190E 2.3 4 cylinder gas FI. At 63, I'm not buying a new car that probably won't last, I've been down south several times and my wife and I are always in the flea markets in PA and my MB runs like a champ, Just recently in my last trip from VA, the A/C must have said that's it joker, fix me, so I have to fix the darn thing. Help!! |

You need to start by searching here and on the internet for both hints and standard practices. AC systems aren't extremely complex, but you can't see what's going on inside. You have to work with measurements and sometimes you have to make an educated guess (e.g., whether to add oil).

If you're replacing everything, you don't need to go OEM at all. You can just get a complete replacement, as long as it fits (mainly, the evaporator).
