This is my first MB I picked it up from my neighbor for 500.00 he just had the engine rebuilt. It has a little rust in a few places and a few door dings. Not real sure what I have here not able to find many on the internet, I checked the Vin on the Russian MB Site. What models will I be able to get parts off of.

Hi James,

Looks like a nice car. Seems like a good price!

You ask about parts - well the first 3 digits of a MB part number denote the model number. So 123 XXX XX XX will be a number for a part that was introduced for the W123 model. On your car you can find lots of part numbers stamped on bits - some will start with 123 but many will be start with 115 or 126... this will give you an idea of where parts are cross compatible with other MB models that have existed before.

I guess in the USA the best place to start looking for parts would be on this site - click above on "buy parts" - I can give you links to places here in Europe but I think the shipping costs would end up making it not worth your while.

Agreed, that is a 123 chassis, yet the coupes have many different parts, body wise vs sedans or wagons.

Looks nice!

All that and a coupe HT besides. Is that a 4 cylinder engine. It sure looks like it would be a fine candidate to put a 617 turbo and a 4 speed manual in it. I hope the rust is very superficial. Fix the rust and don't allow it to grow, because rust will kill the W123s.
