accessory belt tensioner
Hi all, I am about to replace the accessory belt tensioner on a w124 m119 1992 400e. I Have the part, a new belt, the shop manual instructions printed out. The tensioner is the first version.
Before I go into this, any tips? Have not done much besides plugs and such on the engine. Is there damage I could do? Or is it really as simple as the manual seems to make it. Looks like I could loose a washer into the abyss if I am not careful, but besides that it seems pretty clear. thanks

Hi,
I just replaced the damper/shock on the fixture in my 300E. Simple, once I decided to remove the radiator for room to work! And do adjust it to the correct setting (I think mine was about 30 ft-pounds.) And also remove the water pump pulley (and maybe another.) Also keep a 'map' of the belt routing. Mine curves all over the pulleys, and (IMHO) was not obvious for most belts!

The 400E 92 is the same as the V8 version of the same year SL if you havent found anything here or on benzworld.org for your type.
