"DM" stands for Diagnostic Module, which is the built-in mechanism that blinks out codes for faults in your vehicle diagnostic system.
The meaning of the codes can be found by searching the forum for a listing of the codes. The codes coming from pin 8 are different than those coming from the DM (also known as pin 3); pin 8 is specific to the fuel injection system. You get the codes from the DM by holding down the button that's in the pin 1 location for two seconds and then counting the number of blinks from the LED. Let us know the codes you're getting and we'll be happy to translate them for you. Best Regards, Rob

The pin 3 is empty not used it's a German sold car so it might be different compared to US sold cars. Pin 8 only 1 flash no problem.
