Overflow hose on M104

Might be a stupid question, but does anyone know what the name of the hose that goes from the top nipple of the coolant reservoir (near the cap) to the overflow tank located in the passenger wheelwell? I assumed it was called an overflow hose.

I have a friend at a parts store who can't seem to find the part.

On my car, (1995 E320), the hose I am speaking of is braided. Is it necessary to replace this hose with the same type, or can I get away with any old radiator hose as long as it fits?

Thanks

Over Flow Hose

# 021 997 76 82

This one does not have the braided cloth covering.
The only real Abrasion Stress Point is where the hose passes through the Engine
Compartment Metal Sidewall @ just right behind the Passenger Hood Hinge.
I'd put a Rubber grommet in the opening ,if you're concerned, and run the hose
through the grommet.

Normal Retail (That's Not a Stealership) appears to be about $5.50 per meter.

Any coolant rated hose with the correct I.D and O.D. will suffice.

You do realize the Over Flow Hose routes to the Over Flow Tank located inside
the Passenger side Fender-well?(Accessible by removing the "Plastico" inner fender liner.)

This hose has started to fall appart a couple of inches from where it connects to the reservoir, and it is braided. Why? I don't know.

Is that a part number you listed on the top of your post (#021 997 76 82)?

Thank you for the input!

Yes

That's the part number. (From the,Verboten, A*t*ha*s [McCain's home state] )

I'd get a FREE subscription the the EPC and double check MY specific parts #.
