Question Window regulator problem: 1992, 124 chassis

Drivers side rear regulator not functioning. I removed door panel and I can see the ends of two thin cables with sping like things on each end, not connected to anything. Not sure what is going on as far as what I need to replace.

I do have a parts car 1992 also but it does not run so I can not move the window. Can window be moved manually when you have no power and if so how?

if you locate the fuse for the window you want to move in the parts car and get either a jump box or long jump cables you can put one side on ground and the other on the fuse and you should be able to move it.

I'll try that tomorrow. Hopefully I"ve not destroyed whatever lines that go to the window motor.

I got power to window motors on parts car. Unfortunatly all motors work except the one I need, i.e., the drivers side rear motor.

So how does one remove motor and regulator when motor is not functioning and window can not be lowered?

Edited:

I can not remove the safety bracket on window lifting rail with the window in the up position. If I could get that off maybe I could removewindow bracket from regulator and remove. Suggestions?
