OE? O.E.M.? Jurid, Febi, Meyle SGF?
Ok Guys,
LOoking to replace my old flex disc 124 410615? Brands: Jurid and Febi look to be the same brand.. Euro looks similar. Meyle looks identical to the SGF. MBDoc mentioned that you open a Febi box and it's SGF inside. But the pictures show different plating- maybe some are dated? Michael |

The ones I took off my 560 and 300SDL were SGF, I believe the same were on the SD. Memory is fading.
I installed Febi on them and almost certain they were stamped SGF also. Also I have heard Febi is the same company as Lemforder.

Meyle will work just fine.
Do not go with URO whatever you do.

I have a new flex disc that's still in the box (129-410-01-15/57). The box says Jurid. The disc is stamped with >NR< on the top and SGF on the bottom. On the other side it says "Made in Germany." The outside edge is stamped in white: GAD 138.

SGF is OE on about 95% of MB passenger cars.
Febi is a re-boxer that uses SGF discs on about 95% of there part numbers. Most Meyle discs are NOT OE or OE quality. Jurid, which is owned by Honeywell is also OE quality on about 95% of their applications.

Do not go OE or Euro. Thats clear. And dont confuse OE brand with OEM. Not sure why on this forum only people refer to OEM as OE.

Not too long ago I purchased a job lot of '80s and '90s era Mercedes parts in order to acquire some items for my W126. In that lot were 4 discs, all of them for the rear. One was original Mercedes, two were Lemforder and one was Meyle. The discs that were in the Lemforder and Meryle packages were absolutely identical to the original Mercedes disc except both had the Mercedes star and part number ground out of them. That tells me they were manufactured by the same company that manufactures them for Mercedes. Additionally, they all have "Jurid" "SGF" embossed in them also. |

OE = Original Equipment = ....original equipment. Dealer parts. OEM = ...Manufacturer...Most of the time same item, but sometimes can have small changes. OR that Manufacturer sells another item not originally sold on the car AKA Bosch oil filters since MANN was OE. Bosch items used on the car, but not oil filters from the factory. --- Flex disk quality will be hard to judge since they all degrade anywhere between 60-100k. I replaced mine with Febi-Bilstein on both of my W124's and I am at 30k since replacement on my wagon. It already shows signs of wear...I'd say 30% worn. Seems about right.

^ OE is a brand, thats what I am getting at. I think they chose the name intentionally to confuse people.
