Excellent Electrical Resource

"Boatowner's Mechanical and Electrical Manual" [Second Edition] by Nigel Calder
[International Marine/McGraw-Hill Companies]

Your local library will have a copy.(Or they can acquire through Inter-Library Loan)

The Information in this Tome is INCREDIBLE !
(AND it's almost ALL transferable to Auto/Aero Motive applications)

For instance, In the book, Mr. Calder details correct testing procedure for
Alternator Diodes !!!

Great explanation of electrical theory.

First book I've ever read that went completely into a batteries inner workings.

We've all seen the water pipe analogy. Author takes it to a new level. Numerous discussions on multi-meter usage - testing - trouble-shooting.

Author seems to spend as much time talking about "automotive" systems as he does marine.

502 page book - first 244 are electrical - the rest mechanical.

Excellent book
