Thanks for the good info, lsmalley. Based on the code book link you provided, I bought a Bosch O2 sensor and installed it last night. CEL is now off, and the exhaust smells like it could pass emissions tests again. Start up is now immediate and the m103 settles into a solid idle at ~650.

Where do you get the build or buy information to get a code reader for the Mercedes that didn't have the factory test module with the red light already there. Oh! Not trying to high jack the thread.
