That 220SEb looks gorgeous!!! I love those convertibles. My dream 'boat' would be a metallic blue 280SE 3.5 Convertible.

Anyway, some new pictures - I was bored and had nothing better to do. Plus I just had the windows tinted.

I'm contemplating painting the lower claddings gloss black too, what do you guys think?

Painting the lower cladding.

I think it would really enhance the appearance. My painter was demonstrating a new paint that he had painted on a large piece of plastic and then he twisted it without harming it. The biggest job is sanding the cladding smoth enough to look good with gloss black.

Great Looking E-420 but you guys are killing me with your pic's....

I've been trying (on and off) for the past 8+ or so months to get my pic's posted and I'm caught in a techno nightmare.

I keep getting this message even trying to post (1) picture:

"The file that you have tried to attach is too big. The maximum size is 66560 bytes".

How to I fix this????

TIA

Thanks,

You have to get the pictures down to smaller than 65kBytes in size. Try compressing it more? or making it smaller?

I did not attach the pictures, because I uploaded them to the webserver space from my Internet Service Provider.

posting fotos

hinrg02

first i would suggest taking the largest foto you can. like 5mpix. if you don't have foto editing software say like cpic or some other name. take your foto to windows paint and reduce it one time to the largest mpix allowed. you should be able to post a full size foto on this site like Holson Adi.

it will take maybe some practice getting the size right. the idea is to reduce the biggest file and the best quality so when reduced you won't have foto degradation.

good luck

Since I had just been looking for some pics of mine for another thread, I thought I might as well include a link here to my gallery on another forum. This includes all pics I have attached to my posts on that board so there are many (including duplicates). Just click the thumbnail pics to see larger versions. I really enjoy my cars, all of which give me great service (and am particularly proud of the 190E and 300TE). The '90 190E Sportline and '90 300TE (TE is a regular concours class winner) are superb, despite being daily drivers. My '73 350SLC (which I have owned for the past 21 years) is not so great in appearance (but mechanically unburstable) but I still love it! Sorry if I have posted them here before (if I can't remember, none of you will!). Look here for the pics:

Yes, definitely!

That's the one thing that really bugs me about the styling of those cars, and the 126 cars too.... It's not as bad on a black car like yours, or even on the dark gray ones, but with other colors, the unpainted trim on the lower part of the car makes them look VERY "plastic-ey" and cheap to me.

Your car looks great, but I think it would be a BIG improvement to paint the lower panels to match.

Mike

Actually Konrad Adenauer's(1876-1967) car(his Chancellor office had a small fleet of 300c's and 300d's).

For Holson Adi:

How on Earth have you managed to polish the wheels like this!? Please tell!

Very interesting...

"Konrad Adenauer was born in Germany in 1876. He studied at Freiburg University before becoming a lawyer in Cologne. In 1917 Adenauer became Mayor of Cologne.

Adenauer, a member of the Catholic Centre Party, was elected to the Provincial Diet and in 1920 became President of the Prussian State Council. A strong opponent of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party, Adenauer was imprisoned in 1934. He was released but was arrested by the Gestapo in September 1944 and accused of being involved in the July Plot.

After the war Adenauer was briefly Mayor of Cologne but was removed by the British authorities for alleged inefficiency. In 1945 he helped establish the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and in 1949 became the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany). He held power for the next fourteen years and during that time played an important role in restoring good relations with France and the United States.

In 1950 Adenauer appointed Walter Hallstein as undersecretary of state and was leader of the German delegation at the Schuman Plan Conference. In this post he developed what became known as the Hallstein Doctrine. According to this doctrine, the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany) had exclusive right to represent the entire German nation. Except for the Soviet Union, the government refused to maintain diplomatic relations with states that recognized the German Democratic Republic (East Germany).

Konrad Adenauer, who retired from office in October 1963, died in 1967. "

Fantastic that you have this guys car. What else can you tell us about the car and its PO?

I think it's a little misunderstanding here - I was speaking about the model, not one of the actual 9 cars that belonged to the Chancellor. To my knowledge, all of them had glass divisions behind the front seat, which does not appear in the picture of barndoor's 300c.
