Motor storage
Wanting to store a motor that just had a valve job and head gasket replaced. What kind of prep would I need to do this? How could I insure that the gaskets and such don't dry out (if there is such a thing?)
Any ideas and thoughts would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I, too have been interested in this. I don't think the gaskets are a problem but...
0. Has to be stored in a dry place. A garage is probably not the best place unless you live in a very dry climate. 1. I would coat all the cam lobes in assembly lube. 2. I would squirt oil in all cyls and and rotate the engine crank by hand every 6 months. 3. The MB injection system is a problem. I would attempt to get kerosene through the entire system during storage. Gasoline would definitely not be a good idea sitting in there.
