transmission issues.

[94C 280]

I have a 94 C280 with about 158 k on it . Bought used. about 4 -5 months ago. ran fine shifted smoothly , no leaks... perfect car was well taken care of.. pleanty of service invoices from reputable benz mechanics. Drove the car 40 miles to work , parked for about 6 hours , got in it started drove about 1 1/2 blocks and zilch, nada no more movement. Stopped looked for leaks, none found. no grinding sounds, no strange noises, no slipping previously indicating something wrong. It does shift into reverse and the car does move in reverse so i don't think it's the torque converter, but when I put it in drive, 2nd or 1 st it just doesn't seem to engage the gears... Has anyone experienced something like this ??? Any I deras as to what might be wrong??? I haven't taken it to anyone yet but wanted to get any feedback before I take it. I did check for loose connections but didn't see any... Please help.. thank you in advance.
