broken subframe ears for lower control arm assembly 1979 450sl
I just had the ears, on the subframe, to which the rear bolt of the driver side lower control arem attachs shear off on my 1979 450 sl. My mechanic says that he can repair this by welding. Is this a reasonable option? Also, I have heard that some years and models of MB have been recalled for this, or a very similar problem. Does anyone know whether the recall included my make and model, or how to go about finding out this information. Thanks,

MB has A safety RECALL ON this problem!! Call your local DEALER & get it fixed correctly for free!!
DON'T let them weld on the subframe!
