W210 License Plate Bulb Replacement

Does one access the license plate bulb socket on a 1999 W210 by removing the three screws and plastic fairing above the license plate frame or is it done from the inside by removing the trunk liner?
I removed the three screws and plastic piece. That reveals the bulb cover but it does not seem obvious how the covers come off
to permit access to the bulbs. Just trying to avoid breaking any parts. I know, probably a dumb question once you know how to do this correctly !

Thanks,

Ken

For my 1999 W210 (E-Class)

I stopped by my local dealer to buy replacement license plate bulbs and got an answer to my question. The answer is the bulb sockets are accessed by removing the trunk liner and replacing the bulbs from INSIDE the trunk.
