Secondary air injection control module
Found in the Bentley Service Manual a reference to "Secondary air injection control module". It is designated as N65/1 and is apparently located "under left front wheel housing." Anybody know what this is and it's function? Any pics would be appreciated.

N65/1 is the module that controls the electric COOLING fan.
Air injection (code P0 410) is done thru the engine module & relay. What is your PROBLEM?

I'm repeating what's written in the Bentley manual. According to you, that would make it a misprint?
I am trying to figure out why the secondary air OBDII monitor does not get to "ready". The secondary air runs at cold startup, but does not run the second time once the car enters closed loop. This is apparently the test that needs to be run. |

Just because it is in "bently" doesn't make it correct!
Just because it is posted here doesn't make it correct either! But "N65/1 is the module that controls the electric COOLING fan". Air injection on a 1996 C280 is done thru the HFM computer (N3/4) & a simple relay at position "B" in the fuse box. Air injection needs to have a perfect front O2 sensor to run it's test & engine temp above 80C.

And I'll second the fact that the Bentley manual does have errors in it here and there

Just to clarify, I wasn't stating Bentley was correct, I was stating what Bentley was stating. Part of the reason I posted was to confirm the information. I had never heard of the secondary air controller, either, in any information I've come across in trying exhaustively to figure the problem out. Thanks for the info MBDoc.
