I don't have a vehicle with SBC. Just being curious, can't you clamp the brake hose on the individual wheel while the pads are being replaced?

SBC is a great concept, but IMO braking and steering should never be trusted to electronics. A bad electrical connection or a failed computer one day and wallop.
