Changing Injectors on 87 300SDL OM603
255k on the original set of injectors on my 87 300SDL. I have one (#2) that is making quite a racket and the car is starting to have visible smoke. I ran a can of Diesel Purge through it and it quieted down a bit (and didn't smoke hardly at all through the entire process), but that pesky #2 injector does have a pronounced nailing, especially when cold.
I have a new set of injectors, heat shield/seals, and braided fuel line on the way. The replacement looks pretty straight forward and the MB CD's do not show there to be anything special needing done. Just curious if there I need to look out for. And would any special tools be helpful? Thanks! Lance

Hi, Lance.
I think there is a special removal tool (injector socket). About $20. |
