Unhappy C280 Headlight Wipers

New owner of a 1994 C280 and I need help with headlight wipers. They do not work. Please give some guidence on how to troubleshoot them. I turn on the lights and the windshield wipers and nothing happens with the headlight wipers. The owners manual doesn't give much help .

Any help is appreciated.

Joel

Hey Joel,

Have you tried putting on the windscreen washers? I'm not 100% sure but I've a feeling the headlamp wipers only come on when the screen wash/wipe is activated.

I don't believe there is a windscreen washer activation switch. Would this be on the dash? The manual doesn't mention anything like that. It says if you have your lights on and turn on the wipers, the headlight wipers will activate on an intermittent basis. Maybe I didn't wait long enough to see if they come on.

If this isn't correct, please let me know.

Thanks

MB owner for 2 days!!

Push the turn signal lever in and 2 things should happen, your wiper blade should activate and the washer fluid should come out. I agree with the last post, the headlamp wipers will only come on when the fluid pump is activated (ie, pushing the turn signal lever in).

Hop this helps.

To get the headlamp wipers/washers to activate you must:

1. ensure your headlamps are on.
2. you must activate your windscreen wiper AND washer.

If the headlamp wipers/washers don't activate, then you have a problem.

Just figured it out on my own. Thanks for responding. You're going to have to give me a little time to catch up with you. I've only had the car 2 days.
