Unhappy 87 300E Not starting

I drove the car to my work and it drove just fine. When I tried starting it, it would rev up to 1000rpm, drop to 500 rpm and just die. The second time i tried slamming on the gas after satrting it to make sure it didn't die again but even though my foot was on the gas pedal it still died. I don't know what to do? I tried starting it again, and it wouldn't even start. I am sure it's not the battery, cause i charged it. Any insight would be appreciated.

Well....

After getting my 190E 2.3 Repainted, I got to the shop and went to start it to drive it home, but it wouldn't start. Kinda felt like there was no gas, I'd get it to fire, but it would never actually kick. Well, after about 5 or six times of trying, I got it to where it would JUST BARELY be running with my foot all the way on the gas, after about 10 seconds, it fired clean, some black smoke puffed out, and it was fine. Turned out the fuel injectors were clogged, dunno how they got clogged, but they were. Sounds similar to what your describing, so keep trying!!!! Once you get it started, run it hard on the highway a bit.

s.p.

İf it feels like out of gas , check the fuel pump (listen sound of it) you know when ignition lights on fuel pump sounds 2 or 3 secs and stops. When ever you you turn the key to its last position.the fuel pump must sound again. Find somebody to turn the key and go listen to the pump its placed near right rear wheel.good luck.

Suggestions:

1. Fuel filter,
2. Fuel pump relay
3. OVP, if your SRS light is on!

Question ovp

OVP=Overvoltage Protection Relay
Do a search and you will find tons of information on this rascal. As far as the SRS light, that is only if it stays on AFTER you start the vehicle. It sounds like that is not your problem.
Good luck searching!
