I recently purchased an 1997 E320. The passenger side headrest
was not working at all. I opened the back of the seat (very simple 2 screws), only to find out that the power wire (headrest motor to headrest) is probably broken somewhere inside and is intermitently connecting or not. I would replace it but it is welded somewher to the motor and I do not have any other solution. Please help! |

If it has a broken wire, you will have to remove the seat from the car and take it apart on the bench.
Then you can properly diagnose it. How do you know it isn't the switch?

I opened the back of the chair
I opened the back of the chair. You can see and work on the headrest motor. The electric wire (made out of 4 thinner wires)connecting the motor with the headrest, has a bad contact somwhere on its path.
