'86 300SDL front suspension
I just replaced the steering shock and this has not helped the problem. When I make a right turn
the steering wheel wants to keep right on turning all the way to the right, left turn same thing. While on the interstate if I'm in the left lane it pulls left. In the right lane, same thing pulls to the right. Car appears to have no "on center" feel. Wheel wants to wander to left or right depending on the tilt of the road, or the direction I'm turning. Any idea what's going on here? '86 300SDL 151,000 '87 560SEL 128,000

Insufficient toe-in would be my first guess.
That could be caused or aggravated by loose tie rod ends or ball joints, though.

Jack up the front end so the tire is off the ground. Grab the tire at 9:00 and 3:00 and try and move back and forth - if you have movement - look at which tie-rod is loose. Repeat on other side. This should give you a starting point.
