Let's see...

300E

Replace idle control valve hoses/clean icv
Replace broken/missing front seat cargo nets
Replace broken outside temperature display
Replace climate control vacuum pods (oh yeah)
Somehow replace the light in the center A/C vent wheel
Fix the vacuum-operated rear headrests (they wont flop down)
Get my new Euro headlights professionally aimed and figure out why the foglights wont turn on...
Have rust spots in the undercarriage taken care of
have the rear suspension checked out
Get a second set of rims for my winter tires
Have the loose windshield/roof trim pieces taken care of.

Is this enough??

OK For my W123 300D I need to

Build car port so I can weld in the dry!
Build English Wheel so I can get a decent smooth curve in the floor pan I'm making
Make up some hammer forms for the more intricate shapes
Make the floor pan section out of zincor
Make up some repair pieces and weld them into the front of the car on the firewall and front inner wings and a bit on the right hand bonnet spring pocket
Remove rear wings / fenders
Remove rear wheel arches
Either repair rear wheel arches or make up some new ones
Put in a new electric supply line so I can use that spot welder!
Weld in new / repaired wheel arches
Figure out what the heck I'm going to do with that little bit of irritating rust in the spare wheel well
Weld the rear wings / fenders back on (I've got a new one for the right hand side)
Cut out the old floor pan and weld in the new one
Cut out the sills on both sides and replace them
Remove the last bits of underseal
Straighten out the rear valance
Spot weld in new floor pieces in the boot
Probably make my own car rotisserie so I can work on the underside with ease
Seam sealer!
Spray the underside of the car in POR15 (or something like it) then a colour coat then a clear undercoat so I can see if the rust comes back
Strip off last year's new paint (I didn't get a clear coat on it in time so it is probably damp)
Repaint the car
Make up a new wiring loom

...

If I get this far by Christmas I'll be a happy man!

EDIT - fat chance

Dodgy ground there. Roses cost money too (unless you liberate them from the vicar's front garden)!

At 272K mi the White Whale really needs the whole front end rebuilt. Problem is those 4-matic parts are spendy. Maybe next year's tax return....

With the turbo mostly sorted, there's no major work pending there. I've got some spare rear leveling parts and I've been wanting to add a 2nd control valve and set it up so that I have hydraulic sway control in the rear.
