removing 97 thru 99 m104.

I'am going to replace engine.I want to know if engine wiring harness unplugs somewhere. To computer box? or some where behind engine?
I have put engines in before but never a m104 or Mercedes powerplant.

I believe you can just unplug the ECU and lay the wiring on the engine and lift it out as one piece along with transmission, you will need to isolate the AC compressor, alternator and PS pump, trans connector, shifter etc first.

wont that be a bit harder - the 104 is a long engine and is jammed up against the firewall - the 722.6 is a bit heavier than the older ones too.

the M112 engines have a lot of space near the firewall - you can swing ratchets in there with ease.

oh W140 should have a tad more room to undo the transmission bolts.
