How do you remove this climate control unit?
![]() 1985 300TD, without breaking any of the trim, how should I remove this unit so I can replace temperature markings decal? |

You have to take out the ashtray. Remove the two screws that hold the ash tray holder in place. Remove the ash tray holder and remove two screws that hold the wood trim in place. Pull the bottom of the wood towards you to clear the unit and then down. There are two tangs at the top ( tabs A and B if you will)that will break off if you don't pull down once it clears. Then remove a few screws to remove the unit along with a large black face plate.
