Hello,

I am planning to replace the piston rings on my 260E

Engine is out of the chassis, Have full access to the crank plus everything else. I have referred to factory maintenance manuals about taking the pistons out. I'm just wondering if anyone has done this kind of job before? Is it relatively easy to get the piston rings off?? Does the conrod come right up through the cylinder so you can remove the whole piston assembly as one?

My main question is what should I be looking out for on the conrod bearings, can they fall/slip out once un-bolted?
