I asked about coverage a month ago.

Learned that even IF you have coverage, lockouts were not covered.

One of the carriers at the shipyard was running ECM and no one's remote would operate. On my 05 CDI, the remote was disabled by the ECM, along with hundreds of other fobs.

Bottom line was that the mechanical lock was frozen (likely never used) and my RF was blocked by the ECM. Later learned that the MB fob also has an IR function as a redundant method. The driver's side door handle has a small IR window, and if you place your remote against it, the doors will open. You must be right up against it for it to work.

Jim

I wouldn't think lockouts were covered.

3 things: Fuel/Tire Change/ Battery Jumpstart - is what I understood them to cover gratis for the original buyer only, going forward. Most of the time I can remedy any of these items as quickly as I can wait on them to arrive anyway.

I know it's a moot point, but a $20 HF pocket air compressor goes a really long way on the side of the road.

Good point.

I never leave home without one in my vehicle.
