outer windshield gasket

My 1988 190E was missing on of the two outer windshield gaskets. This is a thick piece of rubber that runs vertical on each side of the windshield on the out side. I cant seem to get it to go on. Any tips? I do not know how to get it started at the top, it is a tight squeeze.
