1993 W124 Auxilary Fans On All the Time After Body Work
hello everybody,
my 1993 w124 was recently in the body shop to repair a failed front-right spring perch. a new perch was welded in. after getting the car back , the auxiliary fans run constantly. another member experienced the same problem with his 1987 w124, but he never posted a resolution . w124 auxiliary fan always on i have no idea how to go about fixing this problem. any suggestions? -tom Edit: Its a 1993 300E 2.8L straight-six M104 Last edited by timmyr; 03-18-2016 at 07:25 PM. |

It would help to know what motor you have. There are two sensors that control the fan. One is on the receiver dryer, the other is on the too of the motor, probably near the water outlet. First step would be to unplug both.

I suggest checking for shorted wires leading to those two sensors. Welding may have melted through the insulation on the wires grounding them where they pass over the spring perch area within the engine compartment.
