Power steering gear box leak - what to do?
As you can see from the photo, the power steering gear box on the 1991 560SEL is leaking. There are three options for dealing with this:
1. Purchasing a steering gear seal set and rebuilding the pump (around $80). 2. Purchasing a rebuilt steering gear (around $430). 3. Purchasing a used steering gear from a parts dismantler (around $100). I'm leaning towards option #1 though I've never torn one of these down before....option #1 would only work for me with help from this forum. Which choice do you recommend and why? |

With the trouble you had with the front brake rotors you should get a rebuilt one and be done with it
