92 400E sunroof motor replacement

The dealer has diagnosed my sunroof problem as needing motor repalacement. It tilts open electrically but will only close manually. Also it will not slide open electrically but if slid open manually ,it will slide closed electrically. Something about failed microswitches in the motor. I'm advised it is relatively easy to R&R the motor as it is accessible in the trunk . Can you walk me through the procedure?

It's best to get the manual and follow the repair procedure as outlined..My memory isn't good enough to go through the whole thing in here. If you can get your hands on the CD, It's in there! Call 1800formercedes to get the CD.

There is a service information about replacing only the "microswitch" section of the motor assembly. All dealers & most good independant M.B. shops should have this info!! If that is the problem!!
