'96 C36 fault code P1341
Hello Benz experts I am new to this forum and am very impressed already. In fact some participants / partners have assisted me before through IATN. I've got a '96 C36 in my shop with a hard MIL on for code P1341, variable camshaft control solenoid without function. The car seems to run fine but the code is constant so I assume the variable timing is inop. Alldata offers very little diagnostic info and I don't have a good dedicated European scanner. Any troubleshooting info or tips you can give will be very much appreciated. Thanks, Skip

The most common cause for this code is a open circuit in the solenoid that allows the cam advancer to change positions.
Also the cam gear itself can bind & that also will cause this code. THIS code is generated after only 1 test & if the oil is dirty(at the end of oil cycle) then you might not even have a problem at all.
