W211 Vibration when cold
I have an 05 E320 and when its cold it feels and sounds like I have the engine directly connected to the car. I hear and feel engine vibrations. I have replaced the engine mounts and the transmission mount with no change. Once the car is warmed up there is no more sound or vibration. Is this normal? Not sure what else to check

No this is not normal, what brand engine mounts did you use?

I don't remember the brand, it was a few years ago. My thought was that if the mount was bad it would do it at all temps

...And the idle speed is...

Nope, it'll vibrate at cold idle, especially in gear.

Idle is 700 rpm. Makes the sound when driving down the road as well until the car is up to temp. I'm wondering exhaust maybe? It sounds like my 1980 300SD until it gets warmed up. The colder it is the worse it is.

That is not normal. Maybe not catastrophic either, but its annoying. I'd be checking all the way down from Motor mounts to exhaust hangers. Something is worn out.

Unless you used dealer mounts they do not last very long. They are most likely worn out again.

I thought I would tell a story the last time I changed the mounts. I was using my dads lift in his shop on the farm and I tossed the old mounts into the trash bag he had in the shop. About a week later he said he heard the largest explosion he has ever heard and scared the living crap out of him (he is in his 80's). He thought a plane had crashed near his house. Apparently he had taken the trash from the shop to the burn barrel about 20 yards from his house and burned it not knowing the motor mounts were in there. Motor mounts would be like an aerosol can on steroids. When it exploded it created such a shock wave that his 6' X6' windows on the south side of the house bowed in (didn't break) and pictures were knocked off the wall.

It actually happened, the mount is basically a hydraulic cylinder filled with flammable liquid. All I can say is do not burn them
