I'm looking for replacement hood underlining for an 88 300E. I got the car used and the previous owner had remover the lining for somw reason.

Any suggestions as to where I can get this item or some generic replacement would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The under hood lining you tolking about is
call Hood pad.
You can get this part at your lacol MB dealer
part dep.
Hood pad is to protect your hood paint against engine heat & reduce engine noise.

Also the after market has developed some hood pads that last alot longer than the OE ones. How would you like it if MercedesShop could sell parts to members?

I think it would be GREAT if you guys would sell recommended parts at good prices. For example, I changed the oil in my SDL this weekend. I had problems finding an oil filter. Found one at Pep-Boys. I'm sure it will work OK but I'd rather buy one on the net that comes recommended and a knowledgeable MB tech. knows about.

I'll second that, Mark. I like stock parts, except when stock isn't the best performing or longest lasting. For example, those fragile seat adjustment switches on the 126?! Benzmac, I admire your dedication to making this site so excellent.

My 92 190E2.6 is in need of a hood pad also. What aftermarket supplier has the best hood pad? Thanks

Benzmac,

I think everyone would be interested in buying parts online or via phone from MercedesShop. It would mean that we couldn't buy the wrong part and the part offered is a good recommendation. If you can get it, I'll buy it off you.

BTW. Do you happen to have a name for the maker of the aftermarket hood pad?

Keep up the great work.

Guys, there is a lot of places where you can buy parts on the internet. Check out places such as www.beckers.com or www.************************ (impco) to name a few. They also have catalogs with excellent pictures, the latter one. However, if Benzmac or anybody else wants to offer better service and/or prices,in addition to the excellent advice and website...this is a free country!
